The BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) is Europe’s leading exhibition for turf professionals and buyers. It is an unmissable opportunity to further your education and meet various different suppliers. It is a prime time to introduce the NEW Lindum Creeping Ryegrass turf to greenkeepers.
BTME 2018 featured over 250 hours of education including the Turf Managers’ Conference. Over 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and innovations plus unrivalled networking opportunities. This year’s exhibition welcomed nearly 9,000 turf managers, golf club owners, managers and industry decision-makers into the Harrogate Convention Centre.
Here at Lindum, we cannot remember a year without BTME in our calendar. It’s a great opportunity for all involved to meet and see the specialist grown turf we have to offer. Whether it is turf for greens, tees, fairways or a green roof package for the clubhouse, we’ve got it covered!
We showcased the NEW Lindum Creeping Ryegrass turf. It has been trialled with great success last year. Visitors to our stand warmed to the grade and its multiple uses and it has proven to be a great hit. Its creeping qualities make it first and foremost a great turf grade for high wear areas on a golf course such as tees and pathways. It is able to repair quickly and the mowing height is flexible. Creeping Ryegrass can cope with a reduced mowing regime if necessary unlike a traditional ryegrass.
Another popular product was the Lindum Wildflower turf. Wildflowers can bring biodiversity and colour to an area which usually you wouldn’t expect on a golf course. Our pre grown Lindum Wildflower turf is great for creating an instant wildflower area. See more details here.
Over the 3 days Stephen, Roger and Laura covered the stand along with the All Turf and Rocksoff Gravel Team. All Turf Ltd is our North West distributor covering Manchester and Wales. Rocksoff Gravel distribute to Scotland.
Seeing our greenkeepers is always a pleasure, especially when we hear such fantastic feedback. We do work hard to keep our standards very high on the production side and also in the office. We endeavour to give great customer service from first enquiry to delivery. This really did come through in some of the comments given over the course of BTME.
One thing that was highlighted to us was the fact that a lot of turf growers are using netting now. We do not use netting as we do not see it beneficial enough for us our customers. We like to keep as eco-friendly and natural as possible. We see netting as being a headache for both us and our clients.
Did you spot our new feature wall? The grass wall turned heads and showed a great video of Lindum’s turf production.
Overall BTME was a brilliant show. We met up with greenkeepers old and new and discussed some exciting projects. We look forward to seeing them be created.
