Wildflower Green Roof

A private client in Stirlingshire, Scotland commissioned an oak garden house for his property.

Craftsman James O’Keefe wanted to naturalise the roof so that it would blend in with the surrounding garden.

Lindum’s Wildflower Mat provided the ideal solution.

First, James installed a drainage layer to act as a water reservoir holding. This was followed by Lindum’s extensive green roof substrate, which is a blend of expanded clay and an award winning topsoil, with the final layer being Lindum’s Wildflower Mat.

The Wildflower Mat has taken well and a mix of wildflowers, herbs and flowering perennials provide the appearance of a true wildflower meadow on the roof.
