Wildflowers fit for a Duchess!

Wildflowers fit for a Duchess!

The flower show season has been none stop this year; we are just waiting for our feet to hit the ground. From exhibiting at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and supplying a record breaking number of clients to supplying materials to an extra special RHS garden at Hampton Court Garden Festival with our beautiful wildflowers.

Back in 2018 w    e were approached by Adam Davies of Davies White Ltd to be involved with the RHS Back to Nature Garden at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival. The Back to Nature garden was co-designed by the Davies White team and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge.

Supplying wildflowers in full bloom to flower shows is something that we are very used to and they are becoming increasingly popular for the more natural, low maintenance garden look. Of course seeing the Duchess walk through Lindum Wildflower turf was something we could only dream of and we had no doubt that she would love it. The Duchess was astonished that the Wildflowers had made it all the way from our head office just outside of York to Hampton Court without a flower out of place.

The aim of the garden was to increase children’s knowledge of nature and encourage them and their families to get outside and be more involved and upfront with the countryside and discover what it can offer even in small spaces. The Duchess was keen to make the garden fun for children so included was a meandering path through the wildflowers and various different points which would be of interest to children and also pollinators.

Lindum Wildflower turf had so many amazing comments throughout the show week with many people being taken aback by the amount of bees and different species of bee that it attracted.

We couldn’t be happier with the overall look and how Lindum Wildflower performed. As a company we work hard to make sure that our products are not only of great standard but also, they do what they say on the tin.

Meeting the Duchess on Press Day is going to be a Lindum highlight for many years to come.
