Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

In March 2014, Lindum delivered the last loads of a special wildflower turf to the Queen Elizabeth Park – part of the huge regeneration project on the 550 acre Olympic site at Stratford in East London.

Contracted back in 2012 to grow 21,000 square metres of a special mix of grasses and wildflowers, Lindum have been nurturing this unique turf designed to produce species rich lawns with occasional high intensity use.

Deliveries have been taking place over the latter part of 2013, but early completion was delayed by the very wet winter in the South of England. With the opening due to take place on 5th April, Frost’s Landscapes were working flat out to complete turf laying on the remaining areas around the Velodrome and BMX track.

The results of one of the largest contract grown wildflower turf operations will become apparent as the wildflowers develop and flower from late spring onwards.
